The Nike+ Fuelband

“Life is a sport.  Make it count.”  With these words, Nike unveiled the Nike+ Fuelband for the digital device-loving athlete.  The wristband features a built-in 3 axis accelerometer, measuring your all-day activity – running, jumping, dancing, and even blogging.  The Fuelband measures your activity by keeping track of your calories, steps, and time.  The band will also track a new metric called NikeFuel, which, in their words, is the ultimate measure of activity for sport, commitment, and your entire athletic way of life.  You can set daily goals and track your progress with a smartphone application via Bluetooth or syncing your band to the Nike+ website via USB.

The Nike+ Fuelband is perfect for individuals who try to live active lifestyles, but is also a great tool for those who want to start an active and physical health regimen.  The wristband’s usefulness is really dependent on the user and how active they want to be.  The Nike+ Fuelband also sports an array of 100 white LED lights, which shows the time, calories burned, steps taken, and NikeFuel earned.  The brightness level of the lights automatically adjusts to your environment.  As mentioned above, a person can set daily goals for themselves and the Nike+ Fuelband will track their progress.  Along with the 100 white LED lights, the wristband is armed with 20 performance color LED lights.  Anyone can see how far along they are with their daily goal.  Lighting from red to green as the day progresses, you’ll know how far a long you are with your goal.  When you get to green, you’ve hit your goal.  Along with the performance color lights,
